The following is a living document! Please feel free to contact me with thoughts, suggestions, and corrections. See update log and further editing suggestions below. Last update: 8/16/17.
All thoughts, suggestions, and critiques, however small or big, are entirely welcome from study participants and MFC community members! I’ll continue to update the document with your small-to-medium-sized corrections; larger thematic concerns can be mentioned in footnotes for now, and more seriously considered in possible future large-scale reworkings. I’ll keep an edit log of all changes below; unless you let me know that you’d like your edits to remain anonymous, I’ll credit you by name here with the date on which I incorporated your suggestions and uploaded a new version of the document. I’ll mark suggestions that require information not immediately accessible with “###” and a highlight in the text itself; help completing these sections is particularly welcome! One thing I won’t be changing is any information that was factually correct as of the bulk of my fieldwork in the summer of 2015; I’d like this document to be a snapshot of things as they were then.
Many thanks to the original contributors and everyone who subsequently got involved in this project; keep your thoughts coming!
8/16/17: Thanks to Amanda Witman for catching a host of grammatical, spelling, and font errors, all now corrected. Also, there’s a new footnote added about “primal lifestyles” (pg. 28). Thanks to Amanda Witman, George Fowler, and Edith Gawler for their help in identifying some of the people in the photograph on page 39. Thanks to Sandy Davis for catching grammatical errors on pg. 50 and a content error on his entry in Appendix A: both are now corrected.
